I just love the look of crochet fingerless gloves. When the Crochet Berry hat was done the rest of my purple Vanna’s Choice yarn was calling and I had to answer. These crochet fingerless mitts work up really fast and the pattern is pretty easy. The set will really look great and is sure to keep you nice and warm!

with your5.5 mm I hook:
ch 6, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc to end, turn
*ch1, hdc in back loops only to end, turn
repeat from *11 more times (12 Rows of back loop hdc)
Note: If you are using a different worsted weight yarn I would now check to see if the edge made fits well around your arm (around 2 inches from your wrist) or if you need to increase your rows. Always increase by 2 to end up with an even number of rows!
Do not fasten off!
You will now work a row of sc into the edge of the ribbed bottom as follows:
with your 5.00 mm H hook:
Row 1: 2sc each into the top edges of the hdc rows (24 sc) See picture (Note: I did this step in white for better visibility)
Row 2 – 12: ch1, hdc to end, turn Note: mark Row 7 with a stitch marker!
Round 13: ch 1, 3dc in same st, ch 3, sc in next st, sk next 2 st, *3dc in next st, ch 3, sc in next st, sk next 2 st, repeat from * 4 more times, sl st to 1st dc of this Round, do NOT turn!
Row 14: slst into the first 3 dc, slst into ch 3, PS into same ch 3, PS to end, sl st to first sc of Round to join, fasten off leaving a long enough tail for sewing the gloves shut.
turn glove inside out, thread through to the last hdc row (row 12) and connect the last (skipped) st to the first st, thread through to your stitch marker (thumb hole left open), sew rest of glove together with a whip st, weave in ends.
