Crochet Stitch Inspiration

There are literally thousands of different crochet stitches or stitches used in different ways to create unique textures or fabrics. The versatility of this craft will never cease to amaze me. And just as you think you have seen it all, along comes overlay crochet, like the stunning mandalas from Caro Created, the Mexican mandala from Melody Macduffee, or Tatiana’s Mandala on her site. (hint: there is a great tutorial to start your own overlay crochet adventure on her website!)

My favorite  Crochet Project Inspiration

I came across British artist Shauna Richardson’s work early on in my crochet journey and am still in awe about her crocheted animals. Crochetdermy is the patented name she has given to her creations and her work has been featured in many galleries around the world. If you haven’t yet, you should definitely check out her sculptures that take her months to complete (she uses only mohair and a 3mm hook!) .

My favorite Crocheters Inspiration

There might be too many to name. There is Salena Baca who is the founder of the Design Wars Challenge. A group of master crochet designers get a yarn challenge and you can vote on your favorite design. Salena is inspiring not only because of her talent, but also because she takes her work very seriously and elevates the hobby to a craft. Another inspiring designer I want to feature is Tara Murray of Mamachee Patterns . I love her designs and her patterns are flawless!

My biggest inspiration might be  Crochet Concupiscence. The site is devoted to crochet and healing and has a wealth of information on the subject. I love how Kathryn Vercillo features crochet artists and her style brings a whole new dimension to the online crochet community.

This has been a fun, but challenging round up! Tell me about your crochet inspirations in the comments!
